Help the mind stay active this winter

Lockdown comes with a lack of usual routine and physical contact with loved ones which can soon have us feeling low. It is more important than ever to keep the brain and memory active in these times. Jigsaws can be a real help to those suffering with Dementia, for those who just want to keep their memory active in older age, or simply those who want an activity to do whilst restricted to their home.

Here at Chums we have plenty of jigsaws and other puzzles which can really help boost your brain activity, thus making you happier and more confident.

Lockdown has taken its toll on most of us, not being able to see family and friends. It is easy for the mind and the mood to deteriorate, not having those interactions with the people you care about most. However, a quick telephone or video call can really give you a boost or why not write a letter like the good old days! 

With the cold, rainy weather hitting the UK recently it’s hard to get out for your daily walks but by trying to complete a jigsaw or other puzzle will help pass the time and also give your brain a work out!

Join comedic legend Jo Brand at Joke’s on You, Dementia! on Thursday 11 March at 7pm.
